Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP) is inviting nominations from export oriented units, large manufacturers, small and medium exporters for 5th India Pharma and Medical Device awards. Last date of receipt of the applications is November 20, 2019.
The Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) informed the member exporters that Union ministry of chemicals and fertilizers will confer the awards during India Pharma 2020 and India Medical Device 2020 event.
“Union ministry of chemicals and fertilizers proposed a separate nomination for each category of awards (along with supporting documents) to be sent to N K Joshi, under secretary to the Government of India,” informed Uday Bhaskar, director general, Pharmexcil.
There are various categories for India Pharma and India Medical Devices awards such as India Pharma Leader award, India Pharma Bulk Drug Company of the Year award, India Pharma Innovation of the Year award, India Pharma Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme of the Year award, India Medical Devices Company of the Year award and India Pharma Swachhta Champion award.
The criteria for India Pharma Leader award is sales turnover growth should be 25% and audited sales figures for the last three financial years should be duly certified by company secretary.
The other criteria is that turnover of manufacturing in own plants as a percentage of total turnover should be 25% and audited figures on item wise production in terms of quality and value for different pharma products manufactured in their own manufacturing facilities in the previous year should be duly certified by the Company Secretary.
The percentage of sales of National List of Essential Medicines (NLEMs) vi-a-vis total sales of pharma products should be 20% and audited figures of NLEMs for last financial year should be duly certified by the Company Secretary.
The number of products launched in the last year should be 10% and percentage of expenditure on research and development vis-a-vis total annual sales turnover averaged over 3 years should be 20%.
The criteria for India Pharma Bulk Drug Company of the Year award is that there should be 40% increase in sales over percentage terms as compared to previous year and the company should indicate item-wise production and sales of bulk drugs in last two financial years duly certified by company secretary.
The other criteria is that sales of bulk drugs for use in manufacture of NLEM drugs as percentage of total sales should be 40% and increase in R&D expenditure on bulk drugs should be 30% as percentage over the financial year.
The criteria for India Pharma innovation of the year award is that number of product patent files should be 25%, number of product patent granted should be 25%, number of product patents commercialised should be 25% and percentage of patents commercialised during the last three financial years pertaining to NLEM drugs should be 25%.
The criteria for India Medical Devices Company of the Year award is that there should be 50% increase in sales turnover over previous year. The other criteria is R&D expenditure should be 50% of sales.
The criteria for India Pharma Swachhta award is percentage of expenditure on Swachhata vis-a-vis total turnover (2018-19) should be 20%.The other criteria is increase in expenditure on Swachhata should be 20% over the previous year.
