Download the notification: The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has fixed retail prices of six formulations under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013, based on the decision of the Authority meeting held on July 29, 2021 vide notification S.O. 3162(E) dated 06-08-2021.
NPPA, in its order on August 6, listed the six formulations for which it has fixed retail prices, including budesonide respule from Softdeal Pharmaceutical Pvt Ltd, paracetamol plus caffeine tablet from Micro Labs Ltd, two strengths of metoprolol succinate (extended release) plus clinidipine plus telmisartan tablet from Pure & Cure Healthcare Pvt Ltd and Alembic Pharmceuticals, atorvastatin plus ezetimibe tablet from Safetab Life Sciences and Lupin Ltd and cefixime plus potassium clavulanate tablet from Zeneka Healthcare Ltd and Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

The manufacturer may add goods and services tax only if they have paid actually or it is payable to the Government on the retail price mentioned by the NPPA. The retail price for a pack of these formulations shall be arrived at by the concerned manufacturer in accordance with the retail prices specified by the NPPA in the order.
The manufacturer shall issue a price list in Form V from date of notification as per the DPCO 2013 to NPPA through integrated pharmaceutical database management system and submit a copy to the State drug controller and dealers.
Every retailer and dealer shall display price list and supplementary price list, if any, as furnished by the manufacturer on a conspicuous part of the premises where he carries on business in a manner so as to be easily accessible to any person wishing to consult the same, it added.

In case the retail price is not complied with, the concerned manufacturer or marketing company shall be liable to deposit the overcharged amount along with the interest under the provisions of the DPCO 2013, read with the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
In another addendum order, the NPPA has brought in the Eurohead Bottles with brand name Dewdrip, from the manufacturer Rusoma Laboratories under the purview of the norms regarding ceiling price fixation of scheduled formulation packs of IV fluids (non-glass with special features). The ceiling prices fixed earlier in the March 25, 2021 order may be applicable to the brand, according to this.
