On Saturday February 13th 2021, SGT College of Pharmacy, SGT University, organized 2nd National Conference on Pharmacy Practice on the theme “Challenges in prevention of Microbial Resistance” for the B. Pharm., M. Pharm., Pharm D., Diploma in Pharmacy and Ph.D. Students including professionals from Industry, Research and Academics from all over the country.

 The conference was sponsored by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology (Department of Science & Technology, Government of India) in association with Indian Pharmacy Graduates’ Association (IPGA).

The concept behind organizing the “2nd National Conference on Pharmacy Practice” has brought together the professionals from Hospital Pharmacy, Community Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmacy, Industry, Research, Academics, Regulatory and other sectors of Pharmacy profession on a common platform to accomplish the objectives of challenges in prevention of microbial resistance, promotion of safe use of antimicrobial agents, spreading awareness to reduce unnecessary use of anti-microbial and to provide a common platform to disseminate knowledge on various causes of AMR among healthcare professionals.

Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Bhalla, Dean, SGT College of Pharmacy in his welcome address thanked all the dignitaries for sparing their valuable time to make this event a grand success. SGT University officials, Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Sharif Ahmed, in his address stressed on the integrated research in this field. Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Vinod Kumar thanked all dignitaries and updated participants on the ancient history of evolution and using these type of medicines. University officials felicitated Atul Nasa, (Chief Guest), Dr N P Singh (Keynote Speaker) Dr Sangeeta Sharma, Dr Anita Kotwani, Dr Harvinder Popli and other invitees and also welcomed the dignitaries and students. SGT University duly acknowledge Sanjay Arora, CMD, Gentech Healthcare Private Limited for sponsoring hand sanitizer to all the dignitaries and delegates.

A panel discussion on the said theme consisted of the Moderator Prof. (Dr.) Manisha Khandait, HOD, Microbiology, SGT University, Haryana along with experts namely Prof (Dr.) Arun Garg, Dean Pharmacy, NIMS University, Rajasthan, Manmohan Taneja, Assistant State Drug Controller, FDA, Haryana, Dr. Ekta Kapoor, Scientist F, DST, New Delhi and Kalhan Bazaz, Editor, The Indian Pharmacist, New Delhi. The panel discussion deliberated on many critical parameters in Amr including Schedule H1, Ecosystem, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Community perspective, current research scenario, and role of Pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
