It has been decided by Govt. of India to constitute a Committee to expeditiously revisit the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisement ) Act, 1954.
The committee will consider all aspects/ issues raised from time to time with respect to the implementation of the said Act and make recommendations for its amendment or replacement by a new Act.
The 11 members Committee will comprising of the following members :-

| 5 | Representative to be nominated by Secretary ( Department of Legal Affairs), Department of Legal Affairs Ministry of Law and Justice | Member |
| 6 | Mr. Narender Kumar Ahuja , Drugs Controller, State of Haryana | Member |
| 7 | Mr. Amit Duggal , Drugs Controller, State of Union Territory of Chandigarh | Member |
| 8 | Mr. Amrut Nikhade, Drugs Controller, State of Maharashtra | Member |

The meeting of the said Committee was held under the Chairmanship of Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Joint Secretary ( Regulations). Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on 13.12.2019 at Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi.
The Committee will give its recommendation within three weeks of its first meeting.
Earlier Drug Consultative Committee constituted a Subcommittee to review Drug Rules and DMROA along with Schedule J and DMROA Schedule and harmonize these provisions and submit recommendations This Subcommittee was consisting of Narender Ahooja SDC Haryana, S.P. Shani DDC, CDSCO, Shobhit DDC Madhya Pradesh, Amit Duggal SDCO Chandigarh , Bhagoji. T Khanapure, SDC Karnataka were included in this subcommittee
This Subcommittee submitted it’s recommendations during Goa DCC to DCGI. These recommendations were considered during Goa DCC and it was decided to constitute another subcommittee under Chairmanship of N K Ahooja SDC Haryana for further stakeholders consultations and recommendations on Advertisement of Drugs and it’s procedure.
This subcommittee also submitted it’s recommendations after stakeholders consultations including FICCI Task Force and OPPI groups etc. Now Govt with a view to make these recommendations final constituted this committee.
