GANDHINAGAR: The Gujarat cell of Price Monitoring and Resources Unit (PMRU) will start its operations in the state.
This unit will help pharmaceutical manufacturers to maintain uniformity in prices of medicines and it will help people to avail essential medicines at affordable prices.
A regional seminar on “Availability, Accessibility & Affordability of Medicines for All” will also be organized jointly by the Food and Drugs Control Administration (FDCA) and National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) on Tuesday.
Union chemical and fertilizer and shipping minister Mansukh Mandavia and chairman of NPPA Subra Singh will be present.

The Gujarat cell of the Prize Monitoring and Resources Unit will be headquartered at FGCA in Gandhinagar.
The daylong seminar will focus on effective implementation of Drug Price Control Order (DPCO) in Gujarat.
Officials from five states of the country, as well as pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors of the state, will participate in the seminar, a government statement said.
Among other officials who will be present for the seminar include Jayanti Ravi, principal secretary, state health and family welfare department, Jay Prakash Shivhare, state health commissioner and others.
