Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) Haryana passed the orders for easy availability of medical oxygen in Haryana State.
FDA Haryana issued directions to All Air Separation Units situated in Haryana including Air Liquide Panipat and All Medical Oxygen manufacturing units filling Medical Oxygen Cylinders using Liquid Oxygen from Air Separation Units.
Narender Ahooja, State Drugs Controller, FDA Haryana informed that since COVID 19 declared pandemic by WHO and surge in COVID 19 cases there is increased demand of Medical Oxygen for treatment and management of critical COVID patients and are on oxygen or on ventilation support.
“Medical Oxygen O2 IP is a Drug and essential commodity and National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority of India. NPPA under Ministry of Chemical and Fertilizer fixed the ceiling price of Oxygen @ Rs 17.49 per cubic meter vide Notification dated 20 March 2020″ said Ahooja

All Oxygen Manufacturer filling units and Air Separation Units have been directed to strictly adhere to Ceiling Prices fixed by NPPA and strictly warned not to indulge in Black Marketing, Profiteering and Hoarding of Medical Oxygen.
Supply Medical Oxygen or Medical Liquid Oxygen on prompt and preferential basis to Dedicated Covid Hospitals / Dedicated Covid Health Centers Medical Colleges Institutions etc as Medical Oxygen is life saving for treatment and Management of COVID patients on Ventilators and Oxygen support.
Ahooja informed that All Senior Drugs Control Officers in field have been directed to obtain production and sale records of Medical Oxygen and Medical Liquid Oxygen under section 18 of Drugs Act and ensure smooth supply chain of oxygen.
