The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) has invited laboratories to join Proficiency Testing (PT) programme towards fulfilling the requirement of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for quality assurance of test results. This PT Programme is for National Participants only.
As a part of the programme, PT will be done under the discipline of Biological for the Group of Drugs & Pharmaceuticals as stipulated for the Parameter of Qualitative test for specific pathogens.
The test is related to the presence or absence of Salmonella and Shigella in 10 grams and escherichia coli and staphylococcus aureus in 1 gram of sample).
The laboratories can utilize their results to highlight their performance as individuals to their customers.
Laboratories may also submit these results to the accreditation body. This would also help in the evaluation of performance of laboratories on the basis of these results.
“IPC is conducting PT round-02 in accordance with PT Scheme code: PT/IPL/02/05/2023) in the month of May, 2023 for microbiological parameters.”
“In this regard all the interested participants are required to give their consent by filling the registration form as soon as possible on e-mail at qualityassurance-ipc@gov.in on or before May 31, 2023.”
“Consent received after the due date will not be considered. The participation fee for PT Round–02 is Rs. 11,800 inclusive of GST of 18%,” according to the IPC notice.
IPC is a NABL accredited laboratory in chemical and biological disciplines as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
IPC has also been accredited as Reference Material Producer (RMP) as per ISO 17034:2016 and also accredited as PT Provider as per ISO/IEC 17043:2010. IPC is also a WHO pre-qualified laboratory.
IPC is an autonomous Institute setup under the ministry of health and family welfare, Government of India.
IPC promotes the highest standard of drugs for use in humans and animals within practical limits of the technologies available for manufacture and analysis.
