Final proposal with enhanced penalties under DMROA to be submitted by Committee

Meeting of Committee on Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisement ) Act, 1954 (DMROA) under chairman ship of Dr Mandeep Bhandari Joint Secretary (Regulations) Health at Nirman Bhawan New Delhi held on 3rd January 2020.

The DMROA committee meeting was attended by the following members

The DMROA committee has decided to submit final proposal with enhanced penalties under Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisement ) Act, 1954, Revised definition of Advertisement, Schedule harmonized with Schedule J of Drugs and Cosmetic Rules, Clause of Protection of action taken in good faith.

After submission of the final report by DMROA committee the draft will be sent to Govt of India for approval and for consent of Law Ministry.

After that Draft of amended DMROA will be published for inviting suggestions of stake holders
