Difference between Sanitizer and Disinfectant

What is Sanitizer ?
A sanitizer is a drug which is used to reduce the number of microorganisms on living surfaces. It is mostly used on skin. Sanitizers are often alcohol-based and can be available in the form of gels, liquids, or wipes. They are most effective in killing or prohibiting the growth of certain bacteria and viruses.
What is Disinfectant ?
A disinfectant, on the other hand, is a drug that is used to kill / destroy or inactivate a large range of microorganisms on non-living surfaces. Disinfectants are capable of killing fungi and some forms of parasites. These are mainly used in healthcare facilities, laboratories and homes for cleaning and disinfection.
