The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has declared 1,553 as standard quality (SQ) based on testing done on 1,571 samples in the month of March, 2021. However, it concluded that there were only 18 samples which were declared as not of standard quality (NSQ).
The manufacturers of these drugs are based in Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Telangana, Punjab and Mumbai.

The 18 NSQ drugs include operation theatre gauze (gauze swabs BP 80) manufactured by Anand Product, Tamil Nadu failed the test of (Warp) threads per 10 cm. Surgicom (cotton gauze pad) (absorbent gauze – BP type 13 absorbent cotton wool IP) manufactured by The Ramaraju Surgical Cotton Mills Ltd, Tamil Nadu for failing the test of threads per stated length for the absorbent cotton gauze (13 light). Combine Dressing Pad BP 1980 manufactured by Modern Healthcare, Tamil Nadu which failed the test of sterility. Corsave-10 (rosuvastatin calcium tablets IP 10 mg) manufactured by Synokem Pharmaceuticals Limited, Uttarakhand failed the test of related substances. Xter-250 (terbinafine tablets IP 250 mg) manufactured by Zee Laboratories, Himachal Pradesh and paracetamol tablets IP 650 mg (Febrex -650) manufactured by Indoco Remedies, Mumbai which failed the test of dissolution. Chymocip (trypsin & chymotrypsin tablets) manufactured by Acme Generics LLP, Himachal Pradesh for failing the test of assay of trypsin and chymotrypsin based on analysis done by Central Drugs Laboratory (CDL), Kolkata.

Ondansetron tablets IP 4 mg manufactured by Quest Laboratories, Madhya Pradesh failed the test of dissolution and Moxel-250 (amoxycillin capsules IP 250 mg) manufactured by Venus Biosciences Pvt. Ltd, Himachal Pradesh for failing the test of assay based on analysis done by Central Drugs Testing Laboratory (CDTL), Mumbai.
It also includes Era Care hand sanitizer manufactured by Nature’s Boon Ayurvedic Pharmacy, Punjab which failed the test of identification. Vel-Safe handsanitizer manufactured by Velnex Medicare, Haryana for failing the test of assay of glycerol and hydrogen peroxide. Ofloxacin and ornidazole suspension (intracare RTU suspension) manufactured by Senate Laboratories, Uttarakhand which failed the test of assay of ofloxacin and ornidazole based on analysis done by Regional Drugs Testing Laboratory (RDTL), Chandigarh.
Other drugs include Leegra 120 tablets (fexofenndine hydrochloride tablets IP 120 mg) manufactured by Oaksun Life Sciences, Telangana failed the test of dissolution and Havloc instant hand sanitizer gel manufactured by BRP Industry Pvt. Ltd, Tamil Nadu which failed the test of assay of ethyl alcohol based on analysis done by CDTL, Chennai.
