Though we expected more posts for the pharmacists, however we thank the chief minister for sanctioning 442 pharmacists posts.

However we were expecting more drug inspector posts as there are only 70-78 drug inspectors against the actual requirement of over 350 drug inspector posts in the state.

Overall the drug control department in the state will fill 33 posts, while 357 posts will be filled under the healthcare department totaling it to be 442 posts in all in the state.

The (PAT) president felt that the government should also bring in strict regulatory rules and implement the pharmacy act strictly, so that all the pharmacy stores and medical shops in the state should also fill up the posts of qualified pharmacists in place of unqualified persons who are dispensing medicines in private medical shops.
