The Chhattisgarh Food and Drug Administration (FDA) raided various places and seized fake medicines on February 2, 2023.

The accused were selling allopathic drugs in the name of Ayurvedic drug.

On the basis of the information received, the Controlling Authority, Food and drugs Administration Chhattisgarh constituted four teams to raid different places in the state of Chhattisgarh.

Prior to the raid, these FDA officials in Chhattisgarh secretly gathered information from various sources for more than two months.

The teams raided Shankar Nagar, Birgaon, Geetanjali Nagar of Raipur city, and Simga of Baloda Bazaar district and seized the fake drugs and manufacturing equipment, which totaled more than Rs. 10 crore.

Teams withdrawn samples and sent them to Govt. Analysts, Drugs Testing Lab Raipur for testing and analysis. Govt analyst declared the drugs to contain Diclofenac and acelclofenac in said samples. Then teams seized the samples.

The action was taken in guidance of Secretary Health and Family welfare Department, Govt. of Chhattisgarh and State Drugs Controller Chhattisgarh.
