Shimla: The government has become strict regarding the failure of samples of life-saving medicines in Himachal.

During the press conference held at the State Secretariat, Health Minister Dr. Colonel Dhaniram Shandil said that recently 3 pharma companies have been sealed out of those whose samples have failed. Licenses of drug manufacturers will also be cancelled.

He said that the officials of the health department should check the medicines from time to time.

He said that many types of medicines are manufactured in Himachal, so the image of Himachal should not be tarnished and patients should not be played with in any way.

The minister said that about 11 samples have failed recently. Baddi was also visited in this matter and the company has been instructed to take strict steps.

High Court’s orders will be obeyed

On the cognizance of the High Court on failure of samples of medicines, the Health Minister said that we follow the orders of the High Court.

If any order comes from the court, it will be followed and action will be taken accordingly.

Laboratory being built in Baddi will start soon

The Health Minister said that a laboratory would be set up in Baddi at a cost of Rs 32 crore, in which the quality of the samples would be known.

This laboratory will be prepared soon. This will go a long way in ascertaining the quality of medicines.
