Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre (GBRC) has been constituted vide Department of Science & Technology G.R. No. BTM-102016-299-BT dated 11th August, 2017 to undertake biotechnology research in the state priority areas.
The focus of GBRC is not only to undertake conduct cutting-edge research in the frontier areas of biotechnology but also leading to the development product/ prototype/ process development with application in healthcare, agriculture, environment, marine etc.
Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre invites applications from the interested deserving candidate for the post of RA (02) SRF (01) JRF (03) and LT (02) positions in various research projects.
Research Associate – 01 post
Project Code : IND/2017-18/03
Project name : Technology Development for Streptokinase Production
Desired qualification :
1. Ph. D. in Biotechnology/ Bio-informatics / Microbiology/Pharmaceutical Biotechnology / Chemistry/ Biochemistry or having 3 years of research and design and development experience after M. Tech Biotechnology/ Bio-informatics/ Microbiology / Pharmaceutical Biotechnology / Chemistry Biochemistry with at least 1 research paper in science Citation Indexed (SCI) Journal. OR

2. M.Sc in Biotechnology / Bio-informatics / Microbiology/Pharmaceutical Biotechnology / Chemistry / Biochemistry with 3 years of experience in research, design and development with at least 1 research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) Journal.
Experience : Candidate should have a research experience in proteomics/ protein isolation, purification, characterization, downstream processing, microbial fermentation, Chromatography, cloning and over expression etc. with good research publication as evidence.

1. Post Graduate in Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ Human genetics/Molecular Biology/Cancer Biology with NET qualification or Graduate Degree in Professional Courses in above subjects with NET qualifications. or Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course in above subjects. OR
2. Post Graduate Degree in Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ Human genetics/Molecular Biology/Cancer Biology
Experience : Candidates having research experience in Genomics, NGS data analysis, computational & systems biology with good research publication, as evidence will be preferred.

Scholars who are selected through NET- CSIR-UGC NET including lecturership and GATE b. The selection process through National level examination conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institution such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT. IISc, IISER etc And Two years of research experience preferable in the area of microbiology / bioinformatics / genomics/ metagenomics/ Antimicrobial Resistance etc.

Fellowship : For Laboratory technician Rs. 18,000/- (HRA will not be entitled)
Terms and Conditions
• The above posts are purely temporary and will be filled on contractual basis for an initial period of 11 months, which may be extended after
satisfactory performance of the incumbent till termination of the project.
• There is no provision of re-engagement after termination of the project.
• The selected candidate shall not claim for regular appointment, as the fellowship is co-terminus with the project.
• Maximum age on the last day of the application as per advertisement of the applicant is for LT is 30 years, JRF/SRF is 35 years and 45 years for
Research Associate.
• No TA /DA will be paid for attending the interview.
