With a view to empower the investigational skills of Drugs Regulatory Officers across India, DCO India-Drugs Control Forum organised a webinar on 10th July 2021 for the benefit of its members.
The topic of the webinar was “Investigational Skills under Drugs and Cosmetics Act and Rules thereunder”. Mr Rajinder Kumar Harna, Ex-Asstt. Drugs Controller, FDA Haryana spoke on the subject through a wonderful powerpoint presentation which was packed with many examples from his personal experience.
He covered different aspects of investigations with a view to bring them to logical conclusion by citing many High Court and Supreme Court Judgements.
DCO India-Drugs Control Forum is a group of serving and retired Drugs Control Departments of different States and Union Territories of India.
The main objective of this group is to get the serving and retired Drugs Control Officers on a single platform with a view to share each other’s view point, knowledge, past experiences, recent notifications relating to drugs in India, hold seminars/webinars, quiz programmes and other related social activities.
The webinar was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr VG Somani, Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI). At the outset Dr Somani appreciated the efforts of Sh Lalit Kr. Goel, Asstt Drugs Controller, FDA Haryana, Mr Rakesh Dahiya, SDCO cum Licensing Authority, FDA Haryana and Mr G Koteshwar Rao, Ex-Drugs Inspector (Vigilance and Intelligence), Hyderabad, Telangana for organising this mega webinar.
He also appreciated for organizing from time-to-time different activities and webinars on important topics for the benefit of all the Drugs Regulatory Officers of the Country under the banner of DCO India-Drugs Control Forum.
Dr Somani also appreciated the efforts on the part of all the Drugs Regulatory Officers for their high spirits and continued efforts during the testing times of C-19 pandemic.
The webinar commenced at 11.00 in the morning and continued well past 02.00 PM in the afternoon. The programme was well conducted by Mr CS Sateesh Kumar, Ex- Drugs Controller, Kerala and was ably assisted by Ms Sonu Benny. It was attended by 235 participants, most of whom were the presently serving Drugs Regulators and Ex-Drugs Control Officers of different States and Union Territories of India.

Mahapatra, Former State Drugs Controller at Directorate of Drugs Control Administration, Odisha, India; Mr BR Jaggashetty, Ex- Drugs Controller, Karnataka; Dr G Selvaraj, Ex-Drugs Controller, Tamil Nadu; Mr RK Chugh, Ex-Asstt Drugs Controller, FDA Haryana; Mr PK Jaggi, Ex-Head of Office and Licencing Authority, Delhi.
Many comments were received in the chat box appreciating the timing, title, content and about the speaker.
