Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Sunday said that the Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has been formed so that drug peddlers do not spoil the lives of the state’s youth.

The NCB will prove to be a game-changer in checking the drug menace in the state. It will not only check the menace by sending the peddlers behind bars, but also by spreading awareness about drugs.

“We will prepare the data of drug addicts so that we can track them and bring them into the mainstream by shifting them to drug de-addiction centres,” said the Health Minister while inaugurating the building of NCB at the Haryana Police Academy, Madhuban.

When I assumed charge as Health Minister, I decided to eradicate the drug menace from Haryana. We formed this bureau a year ago, but today, it got its first functional office from where the police will track drug peddlers. ”
