The Telangana Drug Control Administration (DCA Telangana) has started raids against the culprits operation pharmacy / medical store without obtaining drug licenses.
An unlicensed pharmacy / medical store operating in Aravind Nagar was shut down, and officials are now investigating misleading drug advertisements circulating in the region.
Unlicensed Medical Store Uncovered:
DCA Telangana officials raided a premises at D. No: 1-5-82/A, Aravind Nagar, Jagtial Town, Telangana on March 19th, 2025.
What they found was a blatant disregard for established medical store. J. Ravi Kumar, the individual running the establishment, was operating a full-fledged pharmacy / medical store without a valid drug license.
A DCA Telangana official involved in the raid, stated. “We discovered a huge amount of drugs, approximately 30 different types of drugs, including analgesics, antibiotics, and steroids, which were found stocked for the purpose of sale.”
The seized drugs amounted to a value of Rs. 43,000. Drugs Inspector V Upender led the operation.

In a parallel operation, the DCA Telangana officials also targeted the issue of misleading drug advertisements.
“We detected several drugs in the market making exaggerated and false claims,” an official revealed. Raids conducted on the same day, March 19th, aimed to identify and eliminate these deceptive products from circulation.
The Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954, prohibits misleading advertisements for drugs related to specific diseases and disorders.

The DCA Telangana has emphasized that public participation in maintaining drug safety is very important.
A press release urged citizens to report any suspicious drug manufacturing activities or other illegal practices concerning drugs.
