Bhubaneswar, Orissa – As per a notification released by the Health & Family Welfare Department, 46 new drug inspectors have been appointed as of June 6, 2025.

This appointment will bolster the Odisha Drugs Control Services and facilitate the regulation, quality, and access of drugs in the state.

What’s in the notification?

The notification comes after the order of appointment by the Odisha High Court on March 13, 2025, and the recommendation of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) on March 20, 2025.

The following 46 drug inspectors are hereby appointed as drug inspectors under Group B of the Health and Family Welfare Department.

What’s the pay scale?

The newly appointed Drug Inspectors will receive a pay scale of Rs. 44,900/- (Level-10, Cell-1 of the Pay Matrix) as applicable under the ORSP Rules, 2017 along with other admissible allowances from the government.

What are the probation details?

The newly appointed Drug Inspectors will be on probation for a period of two years effective from the date of joining.

As per crucial information, this probation period WILL NOT include any extraordinary leave, unauthorized leave, or any other period that will not be counted as duty.

What are the training details?

The new drug inspectors have to join the Directorate of Drugs Control, Odisha, Bhubaneswar, at 10 am on June 9, 2025 (FN).

They will face compulsory induction training for a period of 45 days upon joining.

What are the conditions of appointment?

The appointment is subject to medical fitness by the Medical Board and verification of character & antecedents, with adverse reports leading to termination of services forthwith.

No TA/DA will be granted for joining at the place of posting.
