The generic version of Ivermectin Cream, which is used to treat inflammatory lesions of rosacea, has been given final approval by the US health regulator, according to Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.
According to Zydus Lifesciences in a regulatory filing, the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) has approved Ivermectin cream, 1 percent, the generic version of the reference-listed medication Soolantra.
The cream will be manufactured at the group’s topical manufacturing facility at Ahmedabad, it added.
Ivermectin Cream is used to treat the inflammatory lesions of rosacea, a skin condition that frequently results in small, red bumps on the face that are filled with pus.
Citing IQVIA June 2022 data, the company said Ivermectin cream had annual sales of USD 176 million in the US.
