Bulk Drug Park
Himachal Pradesh (HP) Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has declared the Bulk Drug Park project as a matter of national significance.
He believes that the establishment of the park in Haroli, Una district, will not only bolster the existing pharmaceutical ecosystem but also propel the entire region towards progress and prosperity.
He envisions Himachal Pradesh becoming a prominent pharma hub in the country, and the state government is committed to ensuring the timely completion of the project.
HP’s Transformation into an Investment-Friendly State:
Sukhvinder has expressed the state government’s intention to develop Himachal Pradesh as an “Investment Friendly State.”
This initiative aims to attract potential investors and generate employment opportunities for local youth.
The Bulk Drug Park holds immense investment potential, estimated to be between Rs 8000-10,000 crore, and is projected to create over 15,000 job opportunities.
The chief minister believes that the successful implementation of the park will significantly transform the regional economy.
Government Support and Infrastructure Development:
The state government has already received the first instalment of a grant-in-aid amounting to Rs 225 crore from the Department of Pharmaceuticals, under the promotion of the Bulk Drug Park Scheme initiated by the Central Government.
This financial aid will facilitate the development of common infrastructure facilities for the park.
To ensure the project’s timely completion, the state government has established the Himachal Pradesh Bulk Drug Park Infrastructure Limited (HPBDPIL), registered with the Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
The agency’s primary responsibility is to address any bottlenecks that may hinder the project’s progress.
Power Supply and Timely Completion:
The Bulk Drug Park is expected to have a power demand of approximately 120 MW.
To meet this requirement, the government has planned the construction of two transmission lines from Una and Tahliwal, ensuring a continuous and uninterrupted power supply to the park.
The state government has directed all relevant departments to work diligently and prioritize the completion of the Bulk Drug Park.
Special attention is being given to expediting the development of essential infrastructure such as water, electricity, and internal roads within the park.
Conclusion:
The Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister’s endorsement of the Bulk Drug Park project as an essential endeavor for the state’s pharmaceutical sector demonstrates the government’s commitment to fostering economic growth and creating employment opportunities.
The establishment of the park has the potential to propel Himachal Pradesh towards becoming a prominent pharmaceutical hub in India.
With ongoing support and streamlined implementation, the state government aims to ensure the timely completion of the project, effectively transforming the region’s economy and benefiting the entire community.
