1. About the position: Junior Analyst in the Drugs Testing Laboratory

The Tamil Nadu Medical Subordinate Service is inviting applications for the position of junior analyst in the drug testing laboratory.

This is a prestigious role that offers an excellent scale of pay and numerous benefits. Here’s what you need to know:

Number of Vacancies: There are 7 vacancies available, including 6 general vacancies and 1 for ST (G).
Scale of Pay: The selected candidates will receive a competitive scale of pay ranging from Rs. 36,400 to Rs. 1,15,700 (Level 16).

2. Eligibility Criteria:

Before applying, make sure you meet the eligibility criteria:

Age Limit: As of July 1, 2023, the minimum age required is 18 years. The maximum age limit varies depending on the category:
- SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s, BCMs, and destitute widows of all categories have no maximum age limit.
- For ‘OTHERS’ (candidates not belonging to the mentioned categories), the maximum age should not exceed 32 years. However, there’s an enhancement of 2 years in the maximum age limit for direct recruitment, which means the maximum age should not exceed 60 years.
Educational Qualification: Applicants should possess a graduate degree in pharmacy, chemistry, or pharmaceutical chemistry. Additionally, they must have a minimum of two years of experience in drug analysis. There are exceptions where the experience requirement can be reduced to one year for specific qualifications.
Knowledge of Tamil: Applicants should possess adequate knowledge of the Tamil language.

3. Application Fees:

Registration Fee: Rs. 150 for one-time registration, but if you’ve already registered within the last 5 years, you are exempt from this fee.
Examination Fee: Rs. 100
Examination Fee Concessions: Fee exemptions are available for various categories, including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Most Backward Classes, Backward Classes, Ex-Servicemen, Destitute Widows, and Persons with Benchmark Disability. Be sure to check the eligibility criteria for fee concessions.

4. Selection Procedure:

The selection process involves a single stage, based on the marks obtained in the written examination.

A tentative list of eligible candidates for certificate verification will be published on the Commission’s website. After verification, eligible candidates will be summoned for the final selection.

5. Important Instructions:

The rule of reservation of appointments applies to this recruitment.
Applicants who have studied in Tamil should provide evidence of the same.
The selection is provisional, subject to final orders in pending Writ Petitions.
The post is eligible for a 4% reservation for differently abled persons.

“One-Time Registration” using Aadhaar is mandatory before applying for any post.
