The Indian Pharmacy Graduates’ Association (IPGA), Haryana Branch, in collaboration with the United Pharma Association North Region (UPANR), organized a highly informative seminar on the 28th of June, 2025, in the evening at Hotel Ramada, Zirakpur, Punjab.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from pharma professionals, regulatory authorities, and industry stakeholders.

The seminar was graced by the following eminent speakers, who shared valuable insights on contemporary regulations and operational challenges in the pharmaceutical industry:

  • Dr. Manish Kapoor, State Drug Controller, Himachal Pradesh;
  • Lalit Goel, Deputy State Drug Controller, Haryana;
  • Amit Duggal, Assistant Drug Controller, Punjab, and
  • Rajesh Gupta, President, Manufacturers’ Association

Lalit Goel addressed the gathering on key provisions of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order (DPCO), the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and the latest regulatory amendments.

He also educated the audience about Rule 84 concerning manufacturers and marketing companies, providing detailed insights on drug storage requirements and shelf-life regulations.

Additionally, he made the session interactive by engaging the audience in discussions about their daily workplace practices, offering practical guidance, and addressing their queries with valuable suggestions.

Dr. Manish Kapoor provided an in-depth overview of recent regulatory developments concerning the interstate sale and distribution of narcotic drugs.

Amit Duggal emphasized the importance of adhering to updated rules and regulations governing pharmaceutical marketing and company compliance.

Rajesh Gupta highlighted the critical challenges currently faced by manufacturers in the testing and management of substandard drug samples during quality trials.

From the IPGA Haryana Executive Body were present alongside other executive members:

  • Sanjeev Sharma, Senior Vice President, and
  • Arvind Mittal, General Secretary.

In his address, Arvind Mittal spoke about the inception, objectives, and ongoing initiatives of IPGA, emphasizing its commitment to uplifting the professional standards of pharmacy graduates.

He announced the upcoming 74th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (IPC), 2025, scheduled from 19th to 21st December, 2025, at Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), and encouraged pharmacy students and professionals to actively participate.

He further informed that the 75th 1PC would be hosted in New Delhi next year under the IPGA chapter.

He also highlighted the career-enhancing benefits of associating with IPGA and staying abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes.

The seminar evoked significant interest from young pharma professionals, many of whom expressed a desire to join IPGA and be part of its growing network.
