The Role: Director at NIPERs

The search is on for Directors to lead both NIPER Hyderabad and NIPER Hajipur. This tenure is for a period of five years, subject to a maximum age of 70 years, on a contractual basis.

Key Responsibilities

As the institutional head, the Director will helm the charge in building and fortifying the NIPER towards realizing the objectives outlined in the NIPER Act of 1998, subject to amendments over time. These responsibilities encompass:

Imparting education at various levels, including undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and post-doctoral.
Spearheading cutting-edge research and development endeavors.
Overseeing other professional functions within the institution.
Assuming accountability for the delivery of outcomes specified in the NIPER Act.

Compensation and Remuneration

Directors can expect a fixed monthly salary of Rs. 2,25,000, in accordance with Level 17 of the 7th CPC, on a contractual basis, adhering to the prescribed rules and regulations.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Educational Background: Possession of a Ph.D. and Masters in Pharmaceuticals related areas of Science and Technology.
Professional Experience: At least 20 years of research experience, inclusive of teaching and published work in reputable journals. Additionally, a minimum of 10 years of service as a Professor (on regular pay scale) in India or abroad, or as a Scientist in recognized Research Institutes.
Administrative Experience: A proven track record of leadership and administrative experience.

Age Criteria

Applicants should not exceed 60 years of age on the relevant date:

For NIPER Hyderabad, the reference date is 30 days from the date of publication.
For NIPER Hajipur, the reference date is November 1, 2023.

Directors of CSIR, DBT, DST Institutions, and Chancellors/Vice-Chancellors of Central Universities and National Institutions with a background in pharmaceutical science may submit nominations to the Chairperson, Search cum Selection Committee at richa.p@gov.in, with the caption “Nomination of candidate for the post of Director NIPER- Hyderabad and/or Director, NIPER- Hajipur”.

Selection Process

The Search cum Selection Committee will evaluate applications and nominations according to a prescribed procedure, including scrutiny, shortlisting, and interviews. Not more than three candidates will be recommended in order of merit. The Director will be appointed with the approval of the Visitor (Hon’ble President of India) as per provisions of the NIPER Act.
