7 Tips Every Men Should Follow In Healthy Skincare Regime
When we talk about skin care, men have kept it very simple. But nowadays more men are pursuing healthier, Younger, Wrinkle free looking skin. It is not enough to only cleansing and moisturizing the skin to keep the skin clean and healthy.
To avoid dry, dull and brittle skin you need to follow a thorough & easy skin care regime. To help men develop healthy skin care routines, here are the following procedures: –
1. CTM is a must routine
The CTM (Cleansing, Toning & Moisturising) is very essential for men. As they are more exposed to pollution, dust and other pollutants on daily basis, which damage the skin cells. So, they need to use facial cleansers (depending on skin type), which is essential to sanitize skin & eliminate dead skin cells.
After that toning is must as it helps to hydrate skin & protects from harmful toxins by locking your pores. At the end, don’t forget to moisturize, as it helps to prevent cracks, dry & dull skin, as well as keeps your skin protected for long hours from TEWL (Trans Epidermal Water Loss).
Tip: – Cleansing, Toning and moisturizing (CTM) are the three thumb rules for a healthy & young-looking skin.
2. How to Reduce Effect of SUN EXPOSURE?
Spending more time in the sun is the number one cause of wrinkles & tanning. The most damaging things are Ultraviolet UVA and UVB rays and if we overexposure to sunlight, it has the same effect as superficial thermal burns.
If you overexpose your skin to sunlight, collagen fibres beneath the skin break down which will cause increased wrinkles on to the skin. The best method is to avoid the sunrays at a stretch or using sunblock moisturizers or lotions which will prevent UVA & UVB rays to penetrate in the skin.
Tip: – Using A Sunblock Moisturizer or lotion will undoubtedly give you a wrinkle free & untanned skin.
3. Exfoliation Is the Key for youthful skin
Exfoliation process removes dead skin cells, which is the most beneficial thing in skincare. When you shave build-up of dead skin cells that lead to annoying razor bumps & ingrown hairs is most commonly seen on men’s skin.
These dead skin cells can clog up pores & cause breakouts. Exfoliating the dead cells away goes a long way to improve the overall texture of your face. Use a gentle but granulated face scrub to help smoothen the skin and eliminate dullness & it will soften the hair follicles, which results in a smoother shave with minimal irritation.
Tip: – Exfoliating Twice or Thrice a week can help slough off dead skin cells & will result in a smooth skin. Be careful and avoid overdo it.
4. Beard Grooming is today’s trend
It’s perfectly fine to keep a beard, if you think that makes a style statement. But ensure you keep it clean. You must need to care about your facial hair to avoid razor burns and ingrown hair on the face.
The best thing to do is to wash your beard with a beard wash oil or beard conditioner or cleansing gel. But ensure that you don’t over condition your beard. It may remove natural oils from your skin completely that keep your beard moisturised and healthy.
Tip: – Apply some beard growth oil with fragrance after washing it which will smoothens & tame a curly beard.
5. Solutions for Thick Soles & Cracked Feet
As age increases, the skin on your feet get crack and thickens. To Avoid this use Pumice stone or any foot scrub in the shower across the soles of your feet. After shower put an intense moisturizer on your feet (specially formulated for feet, Check on the label.)
If the cracks are really bad, swipe on a thick layer of Foot cream before bed. This will help in removing dead cells & also boosts blood circulation which will result in a great stress reliever.
Tip: – Apply a foot cream or emulsion on your feet overnight, which will lock the moisture in skin.
6. Use Cleansers instead of Soap
Soaps do their job of removing dirt & oil too well, that your dermis becomes deprived of its natural moisture barrier, which leaves your skin dry and can lead to flaking, scaling, and itching.
On the other hand, cleanser is milder as it contains ingredients that promise to moisturize, deodorize or prevent skin problems such as acne or aging skin. Because of this, liquid body cleansers are less likely to strip natural oils from your skin.
Tip: – Oil Based Cleansers are generally more promising than others as they don’t strip off the natural oils from the body & works effectively within a PH range similar to that of your skin.
7. Wrinkle Prevention for Men
The skin around the eyes lacks in sweat and oil glands; making it highly susceptible to under-eye dehydration resulting in crow’s feet, fine lines & wrinkles. Developing wrinkles is inevitable, but there are some ways to restore youthful appearance or slow down signs of aging.
Try any Under Eye Cream or Serum that contains Peptides and other active ingredients which makes skin around the eyes firmer, plumper and brighter by naturally regenerating collagen and elastin fibres.
Try finding a product that also works against ‘Blue light’ effects which will not only improve skin around eyes but make complete face looking fresh and toned.
Tip: – Dab a little hydrating eye cream or serum around your peepers twice a day which will encourage Hydration and cell regeneration, bringing younger skin to the surface faster.
Being ‘simple’ doesn’t mean no ‘grooming’. Grooming is essential part of keeping Mental and Physical wellbeing. So, Men should also get involved in some self-pampering to look and feel good. But be sure to choose your skincare products according to your special skin type.
“I think grooming is definitely undervalued by men. We all expect women to be fully groomed, which they do. But I Also think it’s just as important for a man to look fresh & clean.”
