First EC meeting of DCOIWA held at pink city Jaipur
The DRUGS CONTROL OFFICERS (I) WELFARE ASSOCIATION (DCOIWA) held its first Central Executive Committee meeting on November 12, 2022, at the Cygnett Hotel in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Pukhraj Sen IAS, Commissioner, Food Safety and Drugs Control Department, Govt. of Rajasthan, was the Chief Guest, and A. Mangakandan IAS (Farmer Drugs Inspector, Tamil Nadu), Development Officer, Agra District, attended as the Guest of Honor for the occasion.
Ajay Phatak, Drugs Controller, Rajasthan, Kanchan Sinha, Drugs Controller, Tripura, Lalit Kr. Goel, Rakesh Dahiya (founder members of DCOIWA), and several retired Drugs Controllers from Rajasthan were among the invitees present during the session.
The event was started after paying homage to the departed souls of the Late Smt. Neha Shouree, Zonal Licensing Authority, Punjab, Late Smt. Pallavi Koteshwar Rao, Deputy Drugs Controller, Telangana, Late Sri Sudeep Ganguly, Drugs Inspector, West Bengal, Late Sri Rampal, Drugs Control Office, Rajasthan, and Late Sri Dhanpal, Drugs Inspector Tamil Nadu.
Baldev Chaudhary, General Secretary, DCOIWA from Rajasthan, who organized the entire event, welcomed the members and dignitaries.
G. Koteshwar Rao, President, DCOIWA, explained the events and consequences that have taken place in the last 3 years as DCO (I) Drugs Control Forum and its registration as DCO (1) Welfare Association under the leadership of Lalit Kr. Goel, FDA Haryana, and Rakesh Dahiya, FDA Haryana.

The committee decided to publish Diary for the year 2023 and fixed the date of the release of Diary 2023 on 1st Jan 2023 in Delhi.
The EC has approved to conduct of a workshop for walking officers from northeast states in the month of Dec. 2022 at Agartala, Tripura under the leadership of Kanchan Sinha, Drugs Controller, Tripura.
The Association developed the website www.dcoiwa.com and the same has been launched and inaugurated by A. Mangakandan IAS, Agra Dist. Development Officer (Utter Pradesh)
The E.C. member has unanimously approved its members’ plans to strengthen the organization by getting more life memberships.
The E.C. Members have unanimously decided to accept affiliations from various state associations if the request is received.
The E.C. Members approved immediate financial assistance of Rs. 1 Lakh to Late. Dhanpat’s Family. Copies of the bylaws were read and distributed among the members.
A committee is formed under the leadership of Lalit Kr. Goel to establish the DCOIWA welfare trust.
More than 50 Drugs Control Officers from Rajasthan graced the occasion.
The event ended with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Parmanand Verma, Treasurer, DCOIWA.
