Pharmacy Council elections
Haryana: After a gap of seven years, the Haryana State Pharmacy Council (HSPC) is going to the polls to elect six members from among the registered pharmacists, and the process has already begun.
Last date
When the deadline for the withdrawal of nomination papers ended on September 1 evening, 42 candidates were in the fray.
The number of eligible voters in the published electoral roll is 29,135. More than 10,000 pharmacists have not renewed their registrations.
As per the notification issued by the Haryana government on the 26th of last month, the election will be held through postal ballots.
All materials including the ballots will be sent to each registered pharmacist before September 7. The election is conducted as per Section 19 (a) of the Pharmacy Act.
Returning Officer
According to the notification, the last date for receipt of voting papers from electors is September 24, and they will be received by the Director of Health Services (Dental), who is the Returning Officer (RO) for the election.
Counting
Scrutiny, counting of votes, and announcement of results will be on September 25. The council has fixed a fee of Rs 5000 for each candidate to contest the election.
According to information from the office of the returning officer, all postal ballots will be sent to the voters in the second week of this month.
