The newly notified rules outline the eligibility criteria and recruitment procedures for the following positions:
Additional Drugs Controller (Level 13A):
- Qualification: Masters degree in relevant courses and 14 years of experience in manufacturing or testing or regulation or designing of medical devices, or bachelors’ degree in the fields with 16 years of experience in medical devices sector.
- Recruitment: Promotion or deputation.
Joint Drugs Controller (Level 13):
- Qualification: Masters degree in relevant courses and 12 years of experience in the sector, or with bachelors’ degree in the field with 14 years of experience in the sector.
- Recruitment: Promotion or deputation.
Deputy Drugs Controller (Level 12):
- Qualification: Masters degree in relevant courses and eight years’ experience in manufacturing or testing or regulation or designing of medical devices or bachelors degree in the relevant courses with 10 years’ experience in the sector.
- Recruitment: Promotion or deputation.
Assistant Drugs Controller (Level 11):
- Qualification: Masters degree in relevant courses and four years’ experience in the medical devices manufacturing, testing, regulation, or designing or bachelors’ degree in relevant course with six years’ experience in the sector.
- Recruitment: 50% direct recruitment, 50% promotion or deputation.
Drugs Inspector (Medical Devices) (Level 8):
- Qualification: Bachelors of engineering technology in bio medical or chemical or mechanical or electrical or electronics or instrumentation or bio-technology or polymer or computer science or medical electronics engineering from a recognised university or institute; or bachelors degree in pharmacy or pharmaceutical science or microbiology or bio- chemistry or chemistry or life sciences from a recognised university or institute are eligible.
- Recruitment: 50% direct recruitment, 50% promotion.
