Natural Ingredients for Skin brightening and removing Sun Tan
A Bright & Radiant skin is what everyone craves for. There are several natural ingredients which are around us but we are unaware of their benefits.
Our nature is full of several ingredients that are packed with properties of skin lightening & brightening. Regular application of these ingredients gives natural glow & dewy finish in the skin.
Even various cosmetic brands have recognized its benefits & they include them in their various formulations.
Let’s know more about these magical ingredients that not only provides skin lightening properties but also removes sun tan.
1. Tomatoes
Tomatoes are rich source of vitamin C, that is why we include it in our salad and daily diet. But, do you know that they are a real good skin whitener.
Tomatoes removes sun tan and improves skin tone for even complexion. Applying it thrice a week helps in achieving dewy radiance in skin. But don’t forget to moisturize your face after removing it.
2. Hibiscus
Hibiscus are the red colour flower with long stamen, you can easily find them in your surroundings. Hibiscus is also known as ‘gudhal’.
They are rich in antioxidants called anthocyanins that protects skin from development of dark spots or from hyperpigmentation. They help in production of collagen & elastin fibers that gives toned & younger looking skin.
3. Curd
Plain curd has lactic acid in it which helps in exfoliating dead skin naturally. It reveals new clearer skin beneath.
Applying curd have several benefits like skin brightening skin, prevention from acne, even-tone complexion, soothing agent for sunburn and top of that it magically clears sun tan. Curd can also be used as a cleanser with added benefit of skin moisturizer.
4. Mint
Mint is known for its astringent properties that helps in soothing & refreshing skin. But mint also has cleansing properties that helps it removing dirt & grime from the skin along with shrinking open pores.
Mint helps in clearing acne scars and promote oil-free look. Crush few fresh Mint leaves & apply to get rid of acne, hyperpigmentation or dark spots.
5. Cumin
Cumin is a common spice in every Indian kitchen. It is also known as ‘jeera’. Besides adding taste to dishes it has beauty benefits too. Cumin is a great exfoliator, hence helps in removing dead skin cells.
It also has antibacterial, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that protects skin from forming blemishes or acne. Grind cumin in ‘mortal & pestle’ and make a paste using curd. Apply this paste evenly on skin with mild scrubbing twice every week.
This will help you achieve even tone complexion with brighter & radiant look. This quick & easy homemade face pack is also good for removing sun tan & achieve dewy skin.
6. Banana flower
You can easily find a banana tree in your surroundings. But have you ever thought that banana flower is equally useful & beneficial as banana fruit? Banana flower is enriched with potassium, Vitamin E, and C, this helps in reducing accumulated pigmentation.
It also helps in fading dark spots & has anti-ageing benefits. Dry a banana flower & grind it to make powder. Mix this powder with milk and apply it on your face for 10 mins & remove with warm water. You can also boil this flower in water and use this water as a toning-brightening mist.
7. Licorice
Licorice is a great ingredient to lighten & brighten skin tone. Studies shows that licorice has compounds that slows the melanin production in skin that helps in achieving brighter radiant skin & over time skin tone becomes lighter.
Use licorice powder to make a face pack & apply it regularly for healthy glowing skin.
8. Coffee
Coffee is a great exfoliator & helps in removing dead cells for smoother & brighter looking skin. It helps in removing impurities from the skin & makes it look healthy & fresh.
It is excellent in removing dark spots & also reduces under eye dark circles & puffiness. Include this in your homemade DIY scrub for body & face.
DIY Face Pack for Skin brightening & lightening removing
- ½ spoon coffee powder
- ½ spoon licorice powder
- 1 pinch cinnamon powder
- ½ spoon grinded cumin (leave it coarse)
- 1 spoon curd
- ½ spoon honey
- ¼ spoon olive oil (or almond oil)
- 1 spoon oats powder
Mix all ingredients together & prepare a paste. Apply it evenly all over face & body. Scrub softly in circular motions. Leave it for 5 mins & wash with clean water. Apply it twice or thrice a week for brighter & radiant skin.
