Skincare: Conditions beyond self-care

Everyone wants to look their best and be presentable. In today’s world, we have lots of options to overcome any kind of skin concerns or problems.

I always say that “Good skin comes with a Good Skincare Regime.”  But, there are several conditions that are beyond self-care.

These are the conditions or treatments that one should neither try to solve or practice by self nor by any untrained person.

Let’s discuss about the things that you should leave completely on Professionals –

1.Chemical peels

Chemical peel is also called Derma peeling or Chemexfoliation. In simple words chemical peeling is done by applying chemical solution to the skin to peel the top skin & reveal the fresh, smoother & less wrinkled skin beneath.

Let the professional decide whether you actually need chemical peeling or not. He is the best to decide the regularity & after requirements of skin peeling.

Negligence in chemical peeling can create skin sensitivity for weeks. So always consult a skin expert to prescribe right treatment & product according to your skin type.

2. Extreme skin conditions

Acne is a skin condition that most people with oily skin faces. When this acne turns into cystic acne, then for this extreme skin condition a professional expert must be contacted.

Similarly dry skin is a condition that one can look upon using self-care regime. But when this dry skin condition worsens to eczema or psoriasis, one must visit a professional dermatologist.

3. Skin Allergies

People have different skin types & requirements. Similarly, if a product suits a person, it doesn’t mean it will suit another person too.

Natural & Organic is not always good. This might sound weird but yes, people are allergic to natural ingredients too.

Therefore, always perform a patch test before starting to use any new product on your skin or hair. If any type of allergic reaction happens, immediately contact a dermatologist.

This condition is beyond self- care & professional help is a must.

4. Removal of Moles

Moles are growths or skin lesions, usually black or brown in color. Sometimes people try to remove them using horse hair and many other methods.

This may worsen the situation. You should contact a dermatologist if you see a change in colour, size, shape or if they bleed, ooze, itch or become painful. In case you want to remove mole seek help from a professional.

5. Facial Treatments

There are several skin treatments that provide instant benefits to the skin. Treatments like Botox, Microdermabrasion, Dermal fillers, Permanent facial makeup, Laser, Micro needling etc are some of the common treatments that needs to be done by a trained professional.

People are opting these beauty treatments to overcome their skin imperfections. But one should keep in mind to be fully aware of the pros & cons of these treatments & get it done from a trained expert.

So, all the conditions we discussed above must be treated & consulted with a trained professional or doctor.

Do follow the skincare regime as prescribed by the specialist & refrain from using any harsh products on skin.

‘Skincare is Healthcare’

So, as we take home remedies but for serious health issues or illness, we consult a doctor.

similarly for skin, one should practice skincare regime regularly, but for conditions beyond self-care one should seek expert help from a dermatologist.
